Past Perfect Tense

میں اردو فقرات کے آخر میں چکا تھا ،چکے تھے،چکی تھی وغیرہ آتا ہے۔

وہ کھیل چکا تھا

ہم پڑھ چکے تھے۔

علی گانا گا چکا تھا۔

Use

This tense is used to tell about an action completed before a certain moment in past.

اس زمانہ کا استعمال ایسے کاموں کے بارے میں بتانے کیلئے ہوتا ہے جو ماضی میں مکمل ہو چکے تھے۔

In some situation we need to describe two actions happened in past.It becomes necessary to show which action happened earlier than the other.In this case past perfect tense is used.In one clause simple past,and in other clause past perfect is used.

بعض اوقات ہمیں ماضی میں ہوئے دو واقعات کو ایک ساتھ بیان کرنا پڑتا ہے تو یہ بتانا کہ کونسا کام پہلے ہوا اور کونسا بعد میں،ضروری ہوتا ہے۔ایسی صورت میں فعل ماٖضی مکمل کا استعمال کیا جاتا ہے۔فقرے کے ایک حصہ میں ماضی اور دوسرے میں ماضی مکمل کا استعمال کیا جاتا ہے۔

The labourers had striked.	مزدور ہڑتال کرچکے تھے۔
