What Is Tense?
Tense is a verb-based method used to indicate the time and continuation or completion of an action.
زمانہ/فعل ایک ایسا طریقہ ہے جو ہمیں کسی کام کے ہونے کا وقت،اس کا جاری ہونا،یا اختتام پزیر ہونے کے متعلق معلومات دیتا ہے۔
Types Of Tenses
There are three main types of tenses.
- Present Tense
- Past Tense
- Future Tense
These types are further classified into twelve types. Each tense is classified in four more types.
Those Types Are
- Indefinite
- Continuous
- Perfect
- Perfect Continuous
فعل کی تین اقسام حال،ماضی اور مستقبل ہیں جنہیں مزید مطلق ،جاری،مکمل اور مکمل جاری میں تقسیمکیاجاتا ہے۔
Why Tenses Are Important?
The importance of tenses in any language can never be denied. You must have noticed that whatever we do it exists in some kind of time frame. So in order to elaborate people about our actions we must have the knowledge of tenses. For example, if we are doing something and we want to tell people about it.How can we do it? Obviously a structure comes to our mind that if I am doing this right now I should use am helping verb and verb-ing form. To cut long story short, without knowledge of tenses none can speak any language correctly.
زمانہ یا فعل کی اہمیت ،خواہ وہ کسی بھی زبان میں ہو انکار نہیں کیا جا سکتا۔آپ نے غور کیا ہوگا کہ جو بھی کام ہم کرتے ہیں وہ ضرور کسی زمانہ میں ہوتا ہے۔مختصر یہ کہ اس کے علم کے بغیر کوئ بھی زبان درست طریقہ سے نہیں بولی جا سکتی۔
Take Tenses As Game
This is one of the easiest way I have ever known to learn tenses. While i was trying to make an easiest and swift way to learn tenses,i found that if we make tenses a game we can easily learn it.Now you must be wondering how we can take tenses as game. How?Answer is quite simple. This is just a game of form of verb, helping verb and sentence structuring.By changing these three factors we can easily jump between different tenses.
Before starting learning tenses you should be aware of sentence structure.A sentence normally consist of….
- Subject
- Predicate
Note:During school education most of you have read sentence structure as subject+verb+object. But this is outdated.Basically predicate consist of both verb and object(Some Exceptions
Subject
Subject is defined as a person or thing that is performing some action.
ٖفاعل اس چیز یا شخص کو کہتے ہیں جو کوئی کام کر رہا ہو۔
Example
Ali,Ahmad,He,She,It
Predicate
Part of sentence which gives us information about subject is called predicate.
ٖفقرہ کا وہ حصہ جو ہمیں فاعل کے بارے میں بتائے پریڈیکیٹ کہلاتا ہے۔
Example
Is playing cricket.
Goes To School
Predicate is comprised of two things.
- Verb
- Object
Verb
Verb is the action being done by the subject.
فعل اس کام کو کہتے ہیں جو فاعل کر رہا ہو
Example
Play,Go,Beat,Love
Object
Object is the noun or pronoun(person or thing) which is being affected by the action of verb.
مفعول اس شخص یا چیز کو کہتے ہیں جس پر کوئ کام کیا جائے۔
Example
Computer,garden,school,house
So a normal sentence is structured in the following way
Subject+Predicate(verb+object)
Example
He Plays Cricket.
- In this sentence “He” is the person who is doing some work.So it is subject.
- Plays is an action being done by the subject. So plays is an object.
- Cricket is the thing being affected by the verb.So it is called object.
وہ کرکٹ کھیلتا ہے اس فقرے میں وہ جو کہ ایک شخص ہے کام کر رہا ہے تو اسے فاعل کہیں گے۔کھیلنا ایک کام ہے جو کے فاعل کر رہا ہے تو اسے فعل کہیں گے۔کرکٹ وہ ہے جس پر فعل کااثر یو رہا ہے تو اسے مفعول کہیں گے۔
